Shipping a car in Valdez

Valdez is a small Chugach Census Area, Alaska community of about 3,715 residents. The closest AK city we cover is Cordova, about 45 mi away, which is what makes a door pickup practical here. Where a full-size trailer cannot reach the address, we agree a meet point at the time of booking.

Valdez is comparatively isolated among the cities we cover. The nearest city we serve is Cordova, roughly 45 mi away, and that gap is the single biggest factor in scheduling here. A pickup this far out is easier to place on a run already heading toward the Alaska Highway, Seward Highway, and Glenn Highway corridors than to arrange on its own, so expect a wider collection window and, on some loads, a meet point nearer the interstate. Lead time is worth more here than in most of Alaska.

Elsewhere in Chugach Census Area we also collect in Cordova and Whittier. A booking that shares a truck with a neighbouring pickup is usually the cheaper option, so it is worth mentioning if you are moving more than one vehicle.

Before you book

Carrier checks and vehicle preparation are the same for a Valdez pickup as for any other, so they are covered once rather than on every city page. Before pickup, ask for the carrier's MC or USDOT number to look up on FMCSA SAFER and for its cargo insurance certificate. How to prepare your car for shipping covers the wash, fuel level and personal items, and the Bill of Lading guide explains the condition report you sign at both ends.
